What is the North Puget Sound MRI difference?

North Puget Sound MRI is fully accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR). ACR accreditation is the highest level of accreditation attainable and the achievement demonstrates our commitment providing high quality, cost-effective imaging services to our community.

North Puget Sound MRI is staffed by registered, nationally-licensed MRI technologists who have years of experience with MR imaging. Having such highly-trained technologists means patients get the best quality study and doctors have the right information to aid in decision-making.

Our focus on patient care, comfort, convenience and cost-effective imaging combined with our outstanding technology platform makes us the leader in the local MR imaging market and the place patients prefer to go for their MR imaging needs.

When should I arrive for my MRI exam?
15 minutes prior to your table time to complete minimal paperwork. If you will be receiving valium, please arrive 45 minutes prior to your table time. The receptionist will notify you of your table time at time of scheduling and give you detailed instructions on when to arrive and when your exam will start.

What do I need to bring to my MRI exam? What do I wear to my MRI exam? What about jewelry?
You may wear comfortable cotton clothing with no metal (if possible). If your clothing has metal on it, we have disposable scrub tops and shorts for you to wear during your exam. Please wear minimal jewelry as it may need to be removed. We have secure lockers to store your valuables during the exam.

Where do I park for my MRI exam?
North Puget Sound MRI has designated parking stalls for your convenience. Just look for the blue and white sign in front of the stall that says, “Proliance Surgeons – MRI parking”

What happens when I get there?
After greeting you, our receptionist will make sure you have reviewed and completed the necessary paperwork before your exam (see Patient Forms for the list of necessary paperwork that applies to you).  Our technologist will promptly meet you in the front office and bring you back to the scanner for your exam. At that point the technologist will review your screening form with you to confirm there are no safety concerns. The technologist will describe the process and exam in detail so you are fully informed about what to expect during your exam.

What happens after my MRI exam?
The technologist will walk you back to your changing room and confirm whether or not you have a follow up appointment scheduled with your referring provider. If you do, the technologist will make sure all images and reports are made available to your referring provider before your scheduled follow up appointment. (For routine exams your results will be provided to your referring provider within 48 hours. If a STAT exam is needed, your referring provider will receive results within 2 hours.) After your follow up appointment has been confirmed, you are free to change and leave the facility.

Do I need to take a CD with me after my MRI exam?
No, you don’t need to worry about keeping track of your study. Our technology team has created software that allows your doctor to view the images directly.
